Mal 3:1 "Look! I'm sending my messenger on ahead to clear the way for me. Suddenly, out of the blue, the Leader you've been looking for will enter his Temple--yes, the Messenger of the Covenant, the one you've been waiting for. Look! He's on his way!" A Message from the mouth of GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies.
Ps 119:37
Turn away my eyes from seeing vanity; in Your way give me life.
In studying the bible we need to be systematic. We should not skip any part.
It is important to study everything in context for us to understand what it is the Holy Spirit wants us to learn from what we are reading.
Regular and thorough study of the bible is what is necessary.
A bible student is almost like a detective while doing bible study, seeing things that other people miss.
You have to look at every detail making sure you are not missing anything important in your bible study.
There are a few steps involved in this process:
You have to notice the things other people usually miss.
Then you have to start asking questions on the basis of what you have discovered.
Now you have to put all the "evidence" together and interpret it.
Now you bring all the things that belong together, together and try and find out what it means in context.
Only after careful consideration has been given to all the "evidence" you can decide what you think really happened and what the application, of this piece of scripture, is in your life.
Do not draw any conclusions before you have given all the details prayerful thought, jumping to conclusions on the basis of your emotions can be very dangerous.
Study the articles on this website and I think you'll get a lot of bible study help from it.
And when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, of a sad face. For they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to fast. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to fast, but to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.
Do not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Mat 6:16-Mat 6:21
The disciples of John and those of the Pharisees were fasting.
And they came and said to Him, Why do John's disciples and those of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?
And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bridechamber fast while the bridegroom is with them?
As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast in those days.
And no one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment, else it takes away from its fullness, the new from the old, and a worse tear occurs.
No one puts new wine into old wineskins, else the new wine bursts the wineskins, and the wine spills, and the wineskins will be ruined.
The new wine must be put into new wineskins.
